The Senate has voted to override Governor Rauner's veto of a bill that could send labor talks with state employee unions to binding arbitration.
The House is expected to take its own override vote soon. Steve Brown, the spokesman for House Speaker Mike Madigan, says the Speaker believes the House will follow suit.
Senate Bill 1229 has strong backing from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 31. It provides that workers will not strike, nor can they be locked out.
