Patrick Kane Meets With Investigators In Probe

Updates have been few and far between in the ongoing investigation around Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane. However, Kane and his attorney, Paul Cambria, recently met with investigators from the Hamburg Police Department and Erie County District Attorney's office according to the Buffalo News.

width=Kane is accused of raping a woman in his home, according to reports from the Buffalo News. The 26-year-old Blackhawks forward has not been charged with a crime, however, as the investigation stemming from the alleged incident on Aug. 2 continues.

Due to a personal policy of District Attorney Frank Sedita, his office has not even confirmed that Kane is the subject of an investigation. The Hamburg Police chief only went so far as to say that the department is investigating an incident that allegedly occurred at Kane's home.

The investigation is now stretching into its third week. The Buffalo News cited law enforcement and victims advocacy sources who stated that lengthy investigations such as this are not uncommon given the circumstances.

The Blackhawks star has not commented publicly since the alleged incident. Kane had a private party to celebrate his day with the Stanley Cup Aug. 8, a day after police confirmed their investigation, but has remained out of the public eye. His likeness was recently removed from the cover of the forthcoming NHL 16 video game from EA Sports, and he will not be used in the game's marketing.

Both the NHL and the Blackhawks have been mostly quiet on the investigation.

Chicago owner Rocky Wirtz told the Chicago Tribune only that he was “disappointed, but hopeful” about the investigation about two weeks ago.
