Exelon Employees Raising Money For DeWitt County Human Resource Center

width=DeWitt County's largest employer is stepping up to help a vital DeWitt County non-profit.

The employees of Exelon's Clinton Nuclear Power Station are stepping up this month to raise money to help the struggling DeWitt County Human Resource Center. Brett Nauman is the Communications Manager for the Power Plant and he indicates this is something the employees do each year, and they have chose HRC as their charity of choice in 2015.

While HRC is the primary group for this year's drive, Nauman indicates the over $100-thousand raised so far does not always end up with HRC. He explains employees can choose other groups to give to.

According to Nauman, employees of the power plant make up a special committee that decides on what non-profit to make their focus for each year's campaign.

In the past, the Exelon employees contribution campaign has gone to benefit the Clinton YMCA where they helped purchase new lockers. Additionally, they helped the DeWitt County Friendship Center afford and put in a new kitchen.

Nauman also points out their contributions go beyond just their monetary donations. The company on many occasions has been active in physical labor donations, most recently, helping spruce up and fix up Kiwanis Park in Clinton.
