DeWitt County Sheriff's Dept. Investigating Weekend Burglaries

The DeWitt County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in a string of burlgaries from this past
weekend.

Home surveillance video captured images of 3 burglary suspects believed to be responsible for 17
vehicle burglaries early Saturday morning in DeWitt County.

Sheriff Jered Shofner indicated these thieves targeted vehicles parked at rural homes northwest of
Clinton. Petty cash and small electronics were taken.

The majority of the vehicles were left unlocked.

The video depicts 3 suspects with masks approaching a vehicle on Carle Springs Road. When a
motion detection light illuminates the driveway, the thieves quickly look inside the vehicle and depart.

Anyone with information leading to the arrest of these thieves may contact the Sheriff’s Office at 217
-935-3196. Anonymous tips can be called into the Clinton Area Crime Stoppers at 217-935-3333. A
cash reward may be available for information leading to an arrest.
