Miller Park Zoo Readying For Annual Zoo-Doo Event

Organizers at the Miller Park Zoo are making final preparations this week for one of their biggest events of the year.

The Miller Park Zoological Society, the fundraising branch of the Bloomington Zoo, helps host the event each year which, according to Zoo Superintendent Jay Tetzloff, allows guests some unique opportunities.

The theme will be a Caribbean/rain forest with food and drinks. Tetzloff says they hope to have some unannounced events that will leave those that attend talking long after the evening concludes.

According to Tetzloff, the money raised from this year's event is going to help the zoo acquire some equipment that will benefit their animal care.

The zoo recently embarked on construction for a flamingo exhibit. Tetzloff indicates past ZooDoo events have gone to benefit their efforts to advance that project.

The event is Saturday, September 12 beginning at 5 pm. For more information and to purchase tickets, contact the Miller Park Zoo at 309-424-2250 or visit millerparkzoo.org.
