Fowler Rallies To Win Deutsche Bank Championship

width=Remember when Rickie Fowler wasn't clutch or rated properly or whatever the heck that narrative was? On Monday, at the Deutsche Bank Championship, Fowler stole the second playoff event of the season from Henrik Stenson with a late barrage of huge putts.

First, he made a 12-footer at the par-3 11th.

Then he made a crazy 38-foot bomb at the par-4 14th to get within one.

In all, Fowler made over 110 feet feet of putts on Monday in what was his third win worldwide in 2015. It wasn't just the flat stick, either. He turned to his driver late and pumped one 341 yards at the par-5 18th hole in a scene reminiscent of the Players Championship earlier this year.

He would go on to make an easy par and win by one over Stenson.

For the first time in his pro career, Spieth has now missed two straight cuts on the PGA Tour. And still, he's going to regain his No. 1 ranking. That's likely not on his mind at this point, though. Fixing a woeful putting stroke (almost dead least in the 100-player field in strokes gained putting) should be at the forefront.

Hunter Mahan kept his crazy streak of playoff events played alive on Monday in Boston as he pushed into the top five. Mahan will now have played in all 35 FedEx Cup events in his career as he shot 64-70 in the final two rounds of the Deutsche Bank Championship.
