Monticello Couple Being Charged Over Missing Money

 width=A Monticello couple is being charged with theft after money turned up missing from the school's Parent Teacher Organization.

Superintendent of Monticello Schools, Dr. Vic Zimmerman indicates money was report missing and as a result, and arrest has been made in the case. The PTO has made changes to their financial procedures among other changes.

Charges were filed in Piatt County Wednesday against Haley VanVleet and Seth VanVleet, both 33, both of Monticello. Each was charged with one count of theft between $500 and $10,000.

Haley VanVleet had been treasurer of the PTO since August 2014.

Each year, the PTO hosts "Sages Strut Fundraiser". This year's event is September 25. According to a press release by the school, all checks for the event have been received and deposited.
