Farm Safety Week

 width=This week, Sept 20-26th, is National Farm Safety and Health week.

Farming continues to be one of the most dangerous occupations, and according to Dave Newcomb, head of the State Fire Service Institute, this time of year is especially dangerous with all the slow moving vehicles on rural roads at harvest time.

While slow moving vehicle accidents are a big issue, tractor rollover accidents remain the leading cause of injury and death, according to Eric Vanasdale of Country Financial.
