HRC Ends Trash Clean Up At Apple and Pork, Starts New Event

Thanks to a dire situation the State of Illinois has put a local non-profit in, a DeWitt County group is scrambling to keep themselves afloat.

Apple and Pork weekend was traditionally a busy time for DeWitt County Human Resource Center volunteers and clients as they were responsible for trash cleanup on the homestead grounds. According to Executive Director Lynn Scovill, they will not be on the grounds this year.

Scovill indicates they are going to be hosting an event in their parking lot at their Route 54 location during the Saturday and Sunday of Apple and Pork. She explains they will be doing a 50/50 drawing and will have merchandise from their Encore Thrift Store at the site as well.
