DeWitt County hunters will have the chance to prepare for firearm deer season at the Sheriff’s firing range next month.
DeWitt County Sheriff Jered Shofner indicates they've received a lot of public interest in this event and there are going to be six different lanes to work with officers from the DeWitt County Sheriff's office or a DNR CPO.

Interested hunters must reserve a 30 minute slot between 8am and 4 pm. Reservations can be made by calling 217-935-9507 during business hours, or by email to sheriffshofner@dewittcountyill.com Hunters are asked to arrive 15 minutes early for a safety briefing. The Sheriff’s range is located on 9930 Revere Road, Clinton, directly east of the DeWitt County Highway Department.
The program is limited to DeWitt County residents.
