The Clinton Police Department and the Exelon Clinton Nuclear Power Station officially announced a partnership in assisting the Department to acquire their K-9 unit, Charlie.
Charlie is a female black lab and according to Clinton Police Chief Ben Lowers, following the retirement of their former K-9 Lasko, the department wanted to continue their program, but needed the help of community partners. He notes, that is where Exelon stepped up to assist.

The Chief explains Charlie will not be an aggressive K-9, and will be used for what the department calls 'soft tracking'. Chief Lowers explains she is now patrolling and will be used in the schools for outreach purposes.
