Fire Truck Parade Tonight in Clinton

Tonight is the annual Fire Truck Parade in Clinton.

Fire departments from all over central Illinois converge at Clinton High School to start the parade route and end up circling the square showing off new and old fire trucks.

This year's fire truck parade, as always coincides with fire prevention week in Illinois. According to Fire Prevention officer with the Clinton Fire Department, Andy Edmunds, they do a lot of outreach within the Clinton and surrounding communities.

Fire Chief David Dallas indicates tonight's fire truck parade will take their usual route, and end on the square where they will park and the Clinton Fire Department will have their smokehouse for the kids to go through.

The fire department will be in the schools next week for Fire Prevention week and Chief Dallas indicates they spend a lot of time with the kids doing activities, showing them their equipment and raising awareness of fire prevention.

The Fire Truck parade kicks off around 7 pm.
