Rockets' Harden: 'I Know I was the MVP'

width=For months during the 2014-15 season, Stephen Curry was leading the Golden State Warriors to the best record in the league and a fairly historic domination of the entire NBA. Meanwhile, James Harden was leading the Houston Rockets to the No. 2 seed in the vaunted Western Conference, despite numerous injuries to Dwight Howard and his teammates. We ended up with the debate of whether Curry's dominance was more valuable to the Warriors than Harden's resilience.

Curry ended up running away with the MVP award voting, garnering 100 of the 130 first place votes. Harden finished second with 25 of the remaining 30 first place votes. The Warriors went on to defeat the Rockets in the conference finals in five games and win their first title since 1975. While many were convinced the award went to the proper recipient, Harden still doesn't believe the MVP voted ended up the way he did. He says he knows he was the MVP and feels he deserved it over Curry. From Fran Blinebury of NBA.com:

Harden said Tuesday quote - "I know I was the MVP. That's 100 percent given all the things that happened last season."
