Monticello Superintendent Reacts To PARCC Test Information

width=It's been a few weeks since the Illinois Board of Education released a preliminary warning that the first year of the PARCC testing did not go well and area school leaders are reacting.

One area administrator says there's a lot of reasons for the low scores in year one. Superintendent of Monticello Schools, Dr. Vic Zimmerman believes some of those variables include the PARCC testing being a part of a new way of teaching and tests being administered online.

Before jumping to conclusions, Dr. Zimmerman cautions those who hear the figures to remember the PARCC tests are not the only thing schools are measured by.

Rather than look at it from a doom and gloom perspective, the Monticello schools' leader believes the PARCC testing will eventually come around to adequately reflect the learning of Illinois students.
