DeWitt County Youth Focus of Wapella Christian Church Tent at A & P

Thanks to effort by Wapella Christian Church, the annual Apple n' Pork Festival each year is graced with a season favorite, corn on the cob.

Pastor Phil Yackey indicates efforts for Apple n' Pork usually come down to the final week, as they bring in all the corn and then go to work getting it prepared for the hundreds that stop by their tent.

Behind the scenes, the church will have three kettles that they boil the corn in. Pastor Yackey indicates they can boil between 60 and 70 gallons of water, and it takes a little less than two hours to get it boiling.
