Gov. To Stop Discussing Talks With Lawmakers

Is the lack of a state budget really even news anymore?

The budget stalemate has dragged on into October with little hope for a resolution. But Governor Bruce Rauner says that he’s changing tact in the budget battle, not with demands about passing his Turn Around Agenda, rather talking he’s going to stop talking about the discussions he’s having with lawmakers.

In the past Rauner’s accounting of the time and frequency of budget meetings has contradicted the accounting of meetings by Democtratic leaders. The Governor says that structural reform is still needed before a budget can be passed.
