Bears Elevate CB From Practice Squad; NFL Notes

width=The Chicago Bears have elevated cornerback Bryce Callahan from the practice squad to the active roster and waived safety Demontre Hurst.

Callahan played in the first two games this season for the Bears after entering the league with them as an undrafted rookie out of Rice. He spent the past four weeks on Chicago's practice squad.

Hurst appeared in 18 games the past two years with Chicago. He had 36 defensive tackles, one interception and nine special-teams stops.

The Bears announced the moves Monday.

>>Eagles Fly By Giants

DeMarco Murray ran for 109 yards and a touchdown, Nolan Carroll returned one of Eli Manning's two interceptions for a score and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants 27-7 Monday night.

Sam Bradford threw for 280 yards and a 32-yard TD pass to Riley Cooper, but had three interceptions to keep New York in the game.

The Eagles (3-3) have won two straight to move from last place in the NFC East into a tie for first with the Giants (3-3). The teams meet again in Week 17.

Neither team looked sharp in front of a prime-time audience. They combined for seven turnovers and 21 penalties.

The Giants gave the Eagles first downs on a roughing-the-passer penalty and a running-into-the-kicker penalty to keep both of their TD drives going.

>>Rookie QB Mariota Has Sprained MCL

Though Marcus Mariota played the majority of the Titans' game after taking a late and low shot to his left knee on Sunday, his status for the team's upcoming game against the 5-1 Falcons could be in jeopardy. Mariota underwent an MRI following the Titans' loss to the Dolphins and according to coach Ken Whisenhunt on Monday, Mariota suffered a sprained MCL.

Whisenhunt didn't reveal whether or not Mariota will be able to gut it out again on Sunday, instead saying that they'll have to see how it goes at practice throughout the week.

Even if Mariota is able to play, his mobility could be limited against the Falcons. Atlanta's defense is currently ranked 12th in the league with 14 sacks. Meanwhile, the Titans have given up the eighth most sacks in the league. Against the Dolphins, Mariota fumbled twice and lost both of those fumbles.

Mariota's injury occurred when Olivier Vernon hit his knee during a late hit that the officials flagged.
