A delegation from Illinois recently returned from Cuba. The trip was lead by two US Representatives, Democrat Cheri Bustos and Republican Rodney Davis. They along with leaders from state ag organizations and other business groups spent four days in Cuba looking at economic opportunities for the state’s economy.

Farmers in Western Illinois are on board with opening up trade opportunities with Cuba. Jeff Kirwan of New Windsor says another potential customer would benefit Illinois producers.

Both Bell and Kirwan met with Western Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos this week. She just returned from a trade mission to Cuba along with fellow Illinois Congressman Rodney Davis.
