Illinois Heads To West Lafayette To Battle Purdue

 width=Coming off a brutal 39-0 loss at Penn State last Saturday, the Illinois Fighting Illini football team will look to rebound when they take on Purdue at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The 4-4 Illini who are 1-3 in the Big Ten look to get back on track against a struggling Purdue team who is just 2-6 on the year and 1-3 in the Big Ten. Purdue is coming off a shootout win, 55-45, over Nebrasaka.

The Illini have been hit hard by the injury bug this year but could receive good news.

Senior runningback Josh Ferguson is considered questionable for Saturday's game. Interim head coach Bill Cubit indicated Monday Ferguson returned to practice this week and they would evaluate him as the week went on.

Elsewhere, runningback Henry Enyenihi is out this week.

The Illini continue to be without wide receivers Mike Dudek and Justin Hardee.

Game time is 11 am Saturday.

As the calendar turns to November, the journey for No. 3 Illinois State (7-1, 5-0 MVFC) to win a conference title for the second-straight season get extremely tough with a road contest at No. 11 South Dakota State (6-2, 3-2 MVFC) on Saturday.

Coming off a 27-24 win over Indiana State last Saturday where the Redbirds had to rally from behind, the Redbirds have taken the last three from South Dakota State, with their last meeting at Hancock Stadium last year for Homecoming.

The game will be streamed live on ESPN3, and is set for 2:05 p.m. kickoff.

The Eastern Illinois Panthers will face their stiffest test since an 0-3 start to the 2015 football season as they welcome top ranked Jacksonville State to O'Brien Field Saturday.

Coming off a 34-20 victory over Murray State last Saturday, the Panthers will put their undefeated mark in the Ohio Valley Conference and a five game win streak on the line this week.

Jacksonville State is also 5-0 in the Ohio Valley and their only blemish on the season is was a 27-20 defeat to Auburn.

Game time Saturday is 1 pm and can be heard on The Big 1520 AM/92.3 FM WHOW.
