Clemson New No. 1 in AP Poll; Ohio State Holding on in Coaches Poll

The first 10 spots in the AP Top 25 have a different look after three of the top six teams from last week's rankings suffered their first loss of the season in a wild Week 10 across college football. But the headline change comes at the top spot, where Clemson is now ranked No. 1 for the first time since the final poll of the Tigers' 1981 national championship season.

Toledo (on Tuesday), Memphis, TCU, Michigan State and LSU all lost for the first time in 2015 and fell in this week's poll.

TCU fell from No. 5 to No. 13 after its loss at Oklahoma State while the Cowboys, still undefeated, jumped from No. 12 to No. 5. LSU only fell to No. 9 after losing Alabama, Michigan State dropped to No. 14 and Memphis' lopsided loss to Navy at home resulted in a ten-spot tumble to No. 25.

The Top 25 shake up started early this week, with a freshman quarterback coming off the bench to lead Northern Illinois to a fourth quarter upset of previously undefeated Toledo on Tuesday night. The number of undefeated teams this late in the season has been a historical anomaly, but this week's action offered some correction in the craziest ways.

Toledo, Memphis, TCU, Michigan State and LSU all lost for the first time in 2015, shaking up the college football landscape just enough to provide some clarity. In terms of the Coaches Poll, the biggest adjustments came from the Memphis' one-sided loss to Navy at home and Oklahoma State's impressive win against TCU. Memphis fell nine spots to No. 25 while Navy jumped into the rankings at No. 23. The Cowboys surged into the top five (No. 5) and TCU fell nine spots to No. 12.

Clemson is also starting to make a charge at Ohio State's control of the spot, now holding 21 first-place votes to Ohio State's 34.
