An annual event in one DeWitt County community opens tonight (Friday).
The Kenney Festival of Trees opens today until 8 pm.
According to Debbie Rhoades of the Kenney Heritage Association, the Festival of Trees includes Christmas trees decorated by local residents, businesses and organizations along with wreaths and table settings.

Additionally, a running favorite are the old-fashion aluminum trees that are displayed.
The displays are at the Kenney Community Center and can be viewed Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm then Sunday from noon until 5 pm.
Homemade cookies and punch are available. The event is free and open to the public.
