The Clinton Lake Marina has been a huge point of emphasis for the DeWitt County Board this year, with much of the focus on known improvements.
Last week it was discovered the high winds are forcing the hand of the County Board to make an immediate repair to the Marina after winds caused damage to a breakwater. County Board Chair David Newberg indicates former County Board member Dan Ballenger will make the repairs.
Newberg says the replacement of the breakwater was something they knew was coming however, this moves the timeline up to have it addressed. He says a total replacement could run as much as a half-million dollars, and anticipates this project could exceed $100-thousand.
The Clinton Lake Marina breakwater isn't as elaborate as other places but he says it's vitally important in that particular location because the gas dock is the first dock it protects.
