DeWitt County Angel Tree Adoptions Open

With the holiday season in full swing, so too is a new a whole new level of shopping. With that in mind, one local non-profit is hoping you'll take the time to think of the less fortunate in the community this holiday season.

Sue Calvert is the Director of the DeWitt County Angel Tree program and indicates they have full and partial lists all over the County for around 500 kids who are underserved.

Calvert says when you pick up a list, if you are unable to purchase all the items on a list that is OK. She explains they have partial lists to choose from but they have means of supplementing what is missing on each list in that scenario.

Calvert encourages those who adopt their "angels this year to do their shopping at Clinton's Wal-Mart. Calvert explains if you show them your list prior to checking out, the purchase for their children will be tax free.

Gifts are to be dropped off at the Clinton Elks Club Monday Dec. 7 from noon until 7 pm or Tuesday 7 am to noon.
