DeWitt County Museum Kicks Off Candlelight Tours Tonight

A long standing tradition at the DeWitt County Museum gets underway tonight.

The CH Moore Homestead's Candlelight Tours kick off tonight and Larry Buss with the Museum, indicates they have their usual activities before hand to kick off the holiday season. He says the popularity of it has surprised some within the leadership of the Homestead, and is popular even still.

During the tours, the Homestead provides entertainment and Buss feels the entertainment can add a great deal to the experience. He feels their volunteers, who will dress up in period clothing, also help take people back to what the home was like in it's glory.

This year's theme is "Let It Snow" and Buss says once again, their volunteers who decorate their rooms have done a great job. He feels they give the home a whole new feel you wouldn't otherwise get.
