More than $50 million in civil, criminal and asset forfeitures has been collected by the United States Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Illinois in fiscal year 2015.
That’s according to the office which says $19.4 million was collected from criminal actions, $19.1 million in asset forfeiture actions and over $11.5 million in civil actions. However critics say civil forfeiture in Illinois needs reformed.
