Realtors Group Weighs in on Drones

There's growing concern about drones and growing talk of local governments curtailing the use of the unmanned vehicles.

The Illinois Association of Realtors is urging local governments to take a wait and see approach. Neil Malone, who handles governmental affairs for the realtor group, says state and federal officials are examining the issue.

Realtor's Association President Christy DeBrun says drone use for aerial video and photography of properties on sale is exploding.

Some fear drones will continue to interfere with aircraft. In Springfield, one alderman is seeking restrictions on drone use because of fears they could be used against the city's power plant facilities.
