Fending Off Seasonal Effective Disorder

With the days shorter, are you getting tired sooner? Are you having a hard time waking up in the mornings?

These types of symptoms are typical this time of year with shorter days and less sunlight because of weather, these may actually be indicators of a larger problem.

According to Dr. Jim LaValle, seasonal effective disorder is actually very common this time of year and he indicates it can be a form of depression.

Dr. LaValle says vitamin D is one thing your body needs this time of year and he recommends a couple supplements and also says watching your diet is another big key.

Dr. LaValle recommends a special light that actual mimics real sun light. He explains that will help your body get rid of the melatonin.

Dr. LaValle says the symptoms are categorized as the "winter blues" and he says it traditionally happens right around the holidays.
