Seven Buckeyes on AP All Big Ten First Team

width=Offensive player of the year Ezekiel Elliott heads a list of seven Ohio State players voted to the first team of The Associated Press All-Big Ten team.

Penn State's Carl Nassib is defensive player of the year on the team released Tuesday, and Michigan's Jabrill Peppers is newcomer of the year. Iowa's Kirk Ferentz was an overwhelming choice as coach of the year.

Elliott and Michigan State's Aaron Burbridge were the only players listed on the first team on every ballot turned in by media representatives who cover the conference.

Ferentz, who'll finish his 17th season as Iowa's head coach in the Rose Bowl against Stanford, led the Hawkeyes to a 12-0 regular-season record for the most wins in program history. That was a five-win improvement over 2014.

>>Another FCS QB Transfer Picks Oregon

width=For the second straight year, the Oregon Ducks have landed a coveted FCS transfer at quarterback. Montana State's Dakota Prukop has chosen to transfer to Oregon over Alabama, first reported by Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman.

Prukop completed 62.7 percent of his passes for 3,025 yards, 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2015. He also rushed for 797 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Prukop follows in the footsteps of Vernon Adams, Jr., who transferred into Oregon from Eastern Washington this summer. The gamble taken on an FCS grad transfer paid off for the Ducks, as they were terrific in the second half of the season with Adams fully healthy.

After the success of Adams, the Ducks have good reason to believe Prukop can come in and handle the step up in competition at the FBS level.

Prukop will take the GRE in the next week or two, and hopes to enroll at Oregon for the spring semester.
