DJWH Foundation Kicks Off Fundraising for 2015

width=The fundraising arm of the Dr. John Warner Hospital has kicked off their fundraising effort for this year.

Dixie Walden is the President of the Foundation and indicates their aim through efforts like their mailing fundraiser, which is now underway, is to provide the City-owned hospital with supplies or opportunities they may not otherwise be able to provide themselves through their yearly budgeting process.

According to Margie Gehres, who is a member of the Hospital Foundation and also an employee at Dr. John Warner Hospital, says they have broken this year's fundraising goals into three phases. She says phase one targets and EKG-machine.

Gehres says the staff at the hospital has requested a vein finder. She indicates the device is not very expensive and would be a very helpful resource and is found in many hospitals.

The Foundation has for a couple years now, issued future medical students scholarships and Gehres says the final phase is to allow those scholarships to continue be given to area students.

The mailings are going out in three phases but Gehres and Walden encourage anyone wanting to become a donor of the Foundation and help them in their efforts or anyone interested in serving on the Foundation Board to contact Melissa White at the hospital for all the details.
