Ole Miss star defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche will not play the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma State after being suspended by coach Hugh Freeze following Nkemdiche's fall at an Atlanta hotel and subsequent arrest. Later Sunday, Nkemdiche declared that he will enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
According to Scout.com's Ben Garrett, Nkemdiche will head to Miami with his brother Bryan to begin preparations for the draft.
Nkemdiche is scheduled to appear in court for his misdemeanor marijuana charge on Jan. 11, 10 days after the Rebels play in the Sugar Bowl.
Freshman Breeland Speaks will be the likely replacement for Nkemdiche at defensive tackle. Speaks has 30 tackles (five for loss) and one sack this season from his reserve role.
Later, Nkemdiche announced he wasdeclaring to enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
