In an effort to keep their community members safe this New Year's holiday, one Logan County group is once again stepping up to provide it's residents with free rides.

Healthy Communities Partnership will be offering Safe Rides on New Year’s Eve. Safe Ride is a free cab ride home to those who may have celebrated too much and should not drive. The program is sponsored by the Healthy Communities Partnership.

Community Partnerships Manager Angela Stoltzenburg says it's their hope the community will remember the service is available and says bartenders are encouraged to suggest it when necessary.

To receive a free ride home within Lincoln city limits, individuals can ask their bartender for a Safe Ride ticket and they will receive a free cab ride.
