Monticello Uses Big Second Quarter To Pull Away From Clinton

 width=The Monticello Sages scored 22 unanswered points to close the first half and open the second half en route to opening up a 30 point lead against the Clinton Maroons, and rolled to a 72-35 win at Monticello High School Tuesday night.

Zach Fisher led the way for the Sages with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists. Noah Freemon added 10 points with four boards and four dimes.

Four other Sages scored between six and eight points Tuesday as Monticello used balance and exceptional defense, that forced 19 Clinton turnovers. The Sages scored 23 points off turnovers.

The Maroons were led by Jacob Overton's 11 points. The Maroons as a team had just two assists.

The Sages head to Tolono Unity Friday night.
