Hometown Tour Spotlight: Lincoln

The community of Lincoln was the location of Wednesday's Hometown Tour broadcast on WHOW.

 width=The theme among several leaders was preparing for the expected downturn in the state's economy. Superintendent of Lincoln High School, Robert Bagby explains at the start of his tenure at the school, nearly seven years ago, the school board began their preparations for what was to come. He's says it's resulted in the district being one of the most financially stable districts in the state.

 width=For Clay Johnson, who is the Lincoln City Administrator, he says they have maintiained a solid budget through all the uncertainties. He points out Lincoln is working hard to overcome the many stigmas that come with trying to recruit businesses and families to Lincoln because of being in Illinois.

 width=Mayor Marti Neitzel feels the community is going in the right direction. She says they are working on a lot projects to better the community.

 width=Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce along with several other entities in Lincoln have seen a lot of change in the last several years. At the lead of those changes is Andi Hake, who is the president of the Logan County Alliance. She explains the Alliance was formed to bring a lot of entities together and eliminate overlap in many of their goals.
