A local school district is joining the trend of bringing more technology into their classrooms.

Heyworth schools will begin the process of introducing a more personal approach to the technology in their schools and their leader, Dr. Ty Wolf is very excited about it. He explains the groundwork for the initiative has been laid in recent years.

Starting next year, fifth graders and their high school freshman will be getting Chromebooks and Dr. Wolf says this is something he's very excited to get started in their schools.

Dr. Wolf believes the initiative isn't about the technology but rather about how the devices will be used. He feels they have a great staff and it will expand on their current offerings.

Dr. Wolf indicates they have a committee that is going to engage the community and the school about the initiative and get their input. He says a high priority for them is to make sure their teachers have the resources successfully utilize the technology in their classrooms.
