The completion of a new DeWitt County Animal Shelter is in sight.
That's the message from the Chair of the DeWitt County Board's Public Safety Committee, Cris Rogers (right). Thursday night at the DeWitt County Board meeting Rogers outlined where the progress of the shelter stands and what is left to be done.

DeWitt County's pet adoption group, Second Chance for Pets is going to play a role in the completion of the new shelter. According to Rogers, they've agreed to furnish an adoption area for the pets that come to the shelter that need homes and to purchase a washer and dryer for the facility.

Additionally Thursday night, the DeWitt County Board also approved an increase in the rabies registration fees.
