Monticello Uses Second Quarter Burst To Down Maroa-Forsyth

The Monticello Sages outscored Maroa-Forsyth 24-11 in the second quarter and never looked back in a 76-45 route Friday night from Maroa-Forsyth High School.

 width=Despite persistent, physical defense, Zach Fisher scored 27 points leading the Sages to their fourth straight win following a three game losing streak.

Calvin Fisher added 13 points and eight rebounds, and the Sages dominated the glass with a 33-21 advantage.

The Sages also turned 18 Trojan turnovers into 27 points and had a commanding 21-7 advantage in second chance points.

Adreon Brody led the Trojans with 15 points and scored just five after halftime. Parker Barrett added 11, all in the first half as Maroa-Forsyth was outscored 34-21 i n the second half.

The Sages improve to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in the Okaw Valley. Maroa-Forsyth is 8-9 overall and 0-3 Okaw Valley play.

The Sages are back in action Saturday night taking on Meridian. After a game at Warrensburg-Latham next Tuesday, WEZC rejoins the Sages for a home game against Champaign St. Thomas More at 7:30 pm next Friday night.
