The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced work will begin on Interstate 74 from the McLean County line to one mile east of the Farmer City interchange on Tuesday.

The work will include bridge deck repairs and new bridge deck overlays on 10 structures in DeWitt County. During construction, one lane of traffic will be maintained on all routes involved.

There is a posted width restriction of 11 feet and 9 inches on this project from mile marker 156-160.

The overall project has an estimated completion date of July 28, 2017, weather permitting.

The contractor for the $4,500,548 project is Sangamo Construction Company.

IDOT and State Police ask drivers to please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
