The search for a man suspected of shooting a police officer came to an end with a shootout near the Shawnee National Forest.

Illinois State Police say that Clint Pendleton was shot and killed in an abandoned house. Pendleton was wanted in connection with a shooting of an officer in Mahomet.

An FBI agent was wounded in the second gun fight Sunday.

Pendleton had been on the run for over a week, his manhunt is also to blame for a fatal wreck when a responding ISP officer and 26 year old woman collided.

The Decatur woman was killed in the accident.
