IT WAS ANOTHER WET WEEK THAT KEPT PRODUCERS OUT OF THE FIELD AS WE HEAR IN THE LATEST ILLINOIS CROP REPORT.

 

ONLY ABOUT ONE DAY WAS SUITABLE FOR FIELDWORK ON AVERAGE THIS PAST WEEK…SLOWING PLANTING PROGRESS IN SOME AREAS SAYS STATE CROP STATISTICIAN MARK SCHLEUSENER.

 

 

29 PERCENT OF SOYBEANS HAVE NOW BEEN PLANTED AND 10 PERCENT HAS EMERGED.

 

 

FOUR PERCENT OF SORGHUM AND 93 PERCENT OF OAT ACRES HAVE NOW BEEN PLANTED.

 

THE FIRST CUTTING OF ALFALFA HAY IS NOW 10 PERCENT COMPLETE.

 

AVERAGE STATEWIDE TOPSOIL MOISTURE NOW STANDS AT TWO PERCENT SHORT…67 PERCENT ADEQUATE AND 31 PERCENT SURPLUS.
