Exelon To Evaluate Legislation Situation in Coming Days

The May 31 deadline for legislation to be passed by as the Illinois legislature failed to act on a bill that would bring Exelon onto a level playing field with other energy providers.

Clinton Power Station Communications Manager Brett Nauman says the company will evaluate the situation in the coming days.

State Sen. Chapin Rose indicates the legislature going to overtime could be to the benefit of the area as that still leaves them with an opportunity to pass a bill to keep Exelon in DeWitt County.

Exelon provided no other comments about the future of the plant. The plant remains unprofitable in the current climate.
