Governor Supports Ag Education Line

The FFA wrapped up their state convention last week and during the final nighttime session Governor Bruce Rauner announced the he was back on the side of reinstating the ag education line item.

The $1.8 million budget line had been zeroed out in past by the Governor. The money did make it back into the final K-12 spending plan last year but it was again in doubt for the coming school year.

However Rauner told the crowd that he had gone back to the budget and decided to keep it intact.

That line item and other funding still depends on lawmakers and the Governor agreeing on a budget.
