UPDATED: Celebrate Clinton Hosting Numerous Activities on Square

Celebrate Clinton's annual Fourth of July Celebration is set for this Monday with activities on the downtown Clinton Square all throughout the day.

Patrick Peterson, President of Celebrate Clinton says things kick off bright and early at 8 am with breakfast on the square served by local first responders and goes all the way up to 5 pm and everything is free.

Musical groups on the square will perform throughout the day. Peterson says things kick off with the Central Illinois Uke Crazies and they're excited to welcome Grammy Award winner, Ron Stockert.

A full list of activities can be found at the Celebrate Clinton Association Facebook page.

According to Peterson, one of the biggest highlights of the entire day is the dunk tank. He explains this brings out local leaders for a good time seeing them fall into the pool of water.

There's numerous kids activities on the square as well. Peterson says those include a bike, trike and wagon decorating contest, the watermelon eating contest and the kids pedal tractor pull.

The Day concludes with the annual fireworks display out on the west side of the Clinton. Peterson says those will begin at dusk.

In the event of rain on Monday, the activities will shift to Clinton High School.

In the event of rain for the fireworks display, those will happen Saturday, July 9.
