VISITORS TO THE ILLINOIS STATE FAIR CAN EXPECT SOME CHANGES THIS YEAR. 
 
THE FAIR KICKS OFF NEXT THURSDAY WITH THE TWILIGHT PARADE…A FREE CONCERT BY THE CHICAGO SIX WHICH FEATURES THREE OF THE 1985 CHICAGO BEARS PLAYERS AND AN ADMISSION CHARGE THAT NIGHT. STATE FAIR MANAGER KEVIN GORDON SAYS THERE ARE ALSO HOSTING "FIRST RESPONDERS DAY" ON THE FIRST SATURDAY OF THE FAIR.
 
THERE ARE ALSO A FEW NEW CARNIVAL RIDES INCLUDING THE DROP TOWER AND THE MOBY DICK…A NEW FOOD CALLED DEEP FRIED FUNNY BONES AND A NEW BREW GARDEN FEATURING MANY CRAFT BEERS. 
 
 
ADULT VISITORS CAN EXPECT TO PAY A LITTLE MORE TO GET INTO THE FAIR THIS YEAR…ALTHOUGH KIDS 12 AND UNDER ARE FREE. 
 
THERE’S ALSO A CHARGE FOR THURSDAY’S PREVIEW NIGHT WHICH FEATURES THE PARADE AND NEW THIS YEAR…A SAMPLING OF ACTS THAT WILL BE AT THE FAIR AS WELL AS A FREE CONCERT BY THE CHICAGO SIX. 
 
THE FAIR RUNS AUGUST 11TH THROUGH THE 21ST IN SPRINGFIELD.
