In the last few months the Sheriff's office has introduced a new vehicle to their fleet along with a new K-9 unit. Sheriff Jered Shofner indicates they had to retire their former K-9, River, and have introduced a new member to the force, Drax.

 

 

You might also notice the deputies out in a new SUV type of vehicle. Sheriff Shofner says that was the preference of his deputies. He says the department is going away from the traditional sedan vehicles that have long been synonymous with law enforcement.

 

 

Law enforcement agencies reserve parts of their budgets each year for the purchases of vehicles. The Sheriff indicates this was one of their yearly vehicle replacement purchases.
