A joint effort from Illinois aims to increase maize yield production in Africa. Jeff Bunting of Bloomington based GROWMARK is involved with the international project.
In addition to GROWMARK and FS cooperative system, Dow AgroSciences and AMPATH are also key players in the Kenya mission.
Bunting says maize production in Kenya averages 15-to-20 bushels per acre compared to 155 in Illinois.
