Warner Hospital and Health Services Discuss New Pharmacy System

Warner Hospital and Health Services had their monthly meeting on Monday.

Warner Hospital looks to upgrade its pharmacy medication and supply automation system. The new system Warner Hospital was looking at is Omnicell. Omnicell is an automated medication and supply cabinet system that enables remote dispensing of needed medicines at the point of care.

Erin Schlosser said that the new system would help pharmacy hours and be less expensive.

Before the hospital even decided they tried both Pyxis and Omnicell before determining what worked best said CEO Paul Skowron.

The current cabinets at the hospital are set to expire by April of next year; the hospital did motion to get the new Omnicell cabinets which are supposed to last a total of ten years longer than the older version of which only lasted 6-8 years said. Schlosser.
