Hospitals across the state are concerned about growing flu activity. 

HSHS St. John's in Springfield is among hospitals offering suggestions and restrictions. It's common knowledge that the flu is not caused by the outside temperature but Dr. Gurpreet Mander, Chief Medical Officer at HSHS St. John's says intense cold only leaves certain populations more vulnerable to influenza..... 

Individuals with cold or flu like symptoms are being urged to avoid visiting patients at HSHS St. John's. Anyone under 18 or pregnant is also being told to avoid a visit and the hospital is limiting the number of visitors to two people at a time.
