The Illinois State Police were busy on the roadways yesterday.
The ISP came to the rescue of a broken down charter bus on I-55. The bus had been stopped and was without power or heat.
Troopers were dispatched with squad cars and passenger vans to warm up and transport the 21 stranded passengers to a safe spot to wait for another bus.
The ISP says on their twitter account that between 8 am and 4 pm on Wednesday they assisted more than 1,300 motorists and took more than 460 calls for help. ISP notes that’s 10 times the normal count on a typical winter day.
