City Budgets Doing Well

Clinton city budgets are doing well.

That is the message from Clinton City Administrator Tim Followell who indicates despite another negative sales tax report, the city's finances remain strong, specifically with their health insurance costs.

Followell says the city is in good shape but points out they are flatlined in their revenue stream. He says it's a good and bad thing. On one hand, it's been about a decade that it has remained the same but feels optimistic it isn't declining.

Followell says their eyes always remain on Springfield and waiting for the next piece of revenue to be cut off. Keeping city departments informed is key as there are sometimes budget purchases that have to be put off because of unexpected cuts.
