Willow Tree Missions of Piatt County Continues Progress Inside Downtown Facility

A Piatt County non-profit continues its work to restore its new downtown Monticello location and make it ready to host a retail space and temporary housing for domestic violence victims.

Part of the renovation has been the discovery of hardwood for Willow Tree Missions and Executive Director Rachel LeJune says that was exciting for them. They believe it is over 100-year old hardwood and they will work to preserve it, as they are doing with the whole building.

As the renovation continues, LeJune says they are working to get the fire suppression system in place. That will be quite the undertaking but almost everything else appears to be cosmetic like updated, energy-efficient lighting.

This past Saturday, there was a volunteer workday in the morning. LeJune points out they are always accepting groups or individuals seeking to volunteer and help out. You can reach her via email at rachel@willowtreemissions.org or on the Willow Tree Missions Facebook page.
